Sharon Van Etten’s Are We There is one of the best albums of the year, or at least one of the most emotionally devastating, in Demo’s unbiased editorial opinion. Van Etten recently shared the video for album highlight “Your Love Is Killing Me,” directed by Sean Durkin. The video depicts a woman walking home from a bar and visiting an ex-boyfriend. Van Etten wears her heart on a sleeve in her songwriting, and this is the song where she threatens to stab her eyes out and burn her own skin. With that said, the ending of this music video is shocking and affecting, just like Van Etten’s song.
