Farewell, President Obama. The time has come for the world to say goodbye to the man who breathed a new life into the Office of the President of the United States. During his two terms, Obama literally dropped the mic at a White House Correspondents Dinner, shared with the world his creative collection of “dad jokes,” and hosted a music and arts festival on the White House South Lawn. The former president has, likewise, revealed his diverse taste in music, admiring, among others, Stevie Wonder, Chance the Rapper, Bruce Springsteen, and The Rolling Stones. From Springsteen’s performance of “The Rising” at Obama’s 2008 victory rally in Chicago to Paul McCartney’s White House serenade of “Michelle,” Obama’s administration has featured many memorable musical moments. Now, as we prepare to enter the age of Trump, (and suffice it to say, I think we’re all a little nervous) here is a collection of songs to reminisce and remember the past eight years and bid farewell to President Obama.
